Exporting stems from your DAW

We recommend exporting WAV or AIF file types with a sample rate of 44.1kHz or 48kHz, at 24-bit.

Experiment with bypassing processing plugins (EQ, Compression, or Reverb), while leaving in any creative effects like pitch-correction and autotune, delay, or amp simulation.

    1. Go to the File > Export Audio/Video

    2. Render Start: 1/1/1 (or the bar before your song begins)

    3. Render Length: put in the bar after your song ends

    4. Include Return and Master Effects: experiment with this on or off to see what you prefer.

    5. Sample Rate: 44.1kHz or 48kHz

    6. Encode PCM: on

    7. File Type: WAV or AIFD at 16-bit or 24-bit with no dither

    8. Press Export.

    1. Select all tracks and clips

    2. Go to the File > Export > Multitrack Mixdown > Entire Session

    3. Sample Rate: 44.1kHz or 48kHz at 16-bit or 24-bit

    4. Mixdown options: select tracks to export as separate files

    1. Click on the Library Icon in the top navigation bar.

    2. Click the project you want to download.

    3. Open the project in the Studio.

    4. Select the individual track you wish to download at the left side of the screen.

    5. Click on the Triple-Dot Icon located on the track you wish to download. 

    6. Click “Export as WAV”.

    1. Go to the File > Export > Audio Mixdown

    2. Select all the channels for exporting

    3. WAV or AIFF 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz at 16-bit or 24-bit

    4. Effects: Disabled (DRY) or experiment with leaving them on.

    5. Start Queue Export

    1. Send all tracks to an individual channel in your mixer.

    2. At the top select your whole song

    3. Go to File > Export > WAV file

    4. Name the song and folder

    5. Select split mixer tracks in the window

    6. Select 16-bit or 24-bit (24-bit is recommended)

    7. 512-point sync is recommended

    8. Click start and your multitrack stems will be exported to the assigned folder

    1. Solo your track by clicking the headphone icon (or pressing ‘S’)

    2. You can optionally remove all of the effects from your track and disable/bypass (press ‘B’ to open the plugin window)

    3. Click on Share in the top toolbar and select ‘Export song to disk’

    4. Select WAV or AIFF (16-bit or 24-bit) and name your file how you like

    5. Repeat for each track

    1. Set up cycle/locator points to just before your song starts and just after your song ends

    2. Select all tracks

    3. Go to File > Export > All tracks as individual audio files

    4. Select destination folder

    5. Export Cycle Range Only

    6. WAV or AIFF at 16-bit or 24-bit

    7. Bypass effect plug-ins (or experiment with leaving them on)

    8. Include volume/pan automation

    9. Normalize: Overload protection only

    10. Export

  • Start by going to File > Save as and create a new session

    1. Highlight all tracks from the end to the beginning

    2. Choose Edit at the top menu

    3. Consolidate Clips (Mac: Option+Shift+3 // Windows: Alt+Shift+3)

    4. Keep all tracks selected and hit shortcut on your keyboard for Mac: Shift+Command+K // Windows: Control+Shift+K to export tracks

    1. Go to the File > Consolidate/ Export tracks

    2. Select Entire Project; Tracks All

    3. WAV or AIF at 16-bit or 24-bit; 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz

    4. Select the output directory (put all files in the same folder for convenience)

    5. Process

    1. Hover your mouse over the track headers and click the ⋯ button.

    2. Select Export as WAV (no effects)

    3. Do this for each track

    2. Select the Tracks Tab and choose the tracks you wish to export by checking the box next to each track’s name.
